Data Analytics: Why It is Important for the NOW

Sharing This Article Won't Cost You Nothing Except Love :)

Like I already told you in this article, learning coding and programming led me to a ton of opportunities. It enabled me explore other fields like data science and machine learning. Speaking of data science, I have a personal liking for the topic and that is why I found it great to talk about data analytics in this website. If you have really been keen on the net and what is going on around the world, you must have realized that this is one of the most talked about field. And it has been popular for the last like ten, fifteen years. People are talking a lot about it, and how it is already changing everything. Which therefore leaves us with questions, Why is the whole world talking about this? What exactly is it going to change? And why now?

Well, as I am going to be talking about this field here, I will probably be focusing on the technical part of data analytics. But I will also try my very best to give you a glimpse of what this means to you, in a non-technical way possible. Data Analytics, in my opinion and experience, is basically the ability to extract important information from data, in hopes of getting some insights on how the present and the future looks like. Having said that…

Why is the concept of data analytics so important Today?

The truth is, data is changing how everything works. Especially in the business world. I believe there is not one single way to explain this correctly to you. But I will use examples to get my point to you. I believe that will work. Data helps business companies and individuals know the patterns and trends in consumer behavior, so that they know what exactly the market requires. Data is helping the medics understand the trends and patterns in various diseases and symptoms, so that they can come up with better treatments for specific diseases. It is therefore why, the person who knows how to use their data well Today, wins in their field. And it’s with that reason that I love to say, data is not the future, as most people say.

Data is the present

Every business owner Today, whether micro or macro, has to understand the concept of data analytics. And how it is important to running their business. It is the only way to stay competitive and competent in your field. Your marketing will be more profitable when you know the data you have in your hands. Your production will be influenced by the data you have. Is your product still relevant to the consumer? What has to be changed and what is not?

From that angle therefore, there are going to be two key players in the data world; the people who need the information from data, and the people who actually analyze the data. I will call the people who need information the company or business owner. And I will call the person that analyzes the data the data analyst (I leave all the other synonyms to you).

In this website and blog…

I will be focusing on the data analyst – the person that has the technical skills to play and extract useful information from raw ‘meaningless’ data. And the reason is, I have been in this category myself. When I got advanced in coding and programming, I did not venture into the software development part. Instead, I went into the data analytics and machine learning part. I believe that is because of my previous personal affiliation to working with numbers. And also the fact that I love looking at graphs. So the urge to learn how to write commands that will make computers draw graphs for me, was itching the most out of me.

The point however is, in this website, I will be sharing with you my personal journey and story on how I got into data science from programming. And I will not just be telling you that because I love my story (even though I truly do). My aim is to help any of you out there, who is hoping to get into the data analytics field, to find a blueprint to start with.

Because…

Like programming, data analytics is a great field today. The market is hot and if you ever go for a job, it is lucrative. If you also do not want to get into the corporate path, and you want to start something for yourself, I believe it will be important for you too getting to understand what the field is all about. Therefore, I will be sharing with you my tips and guides on learning data analytics. What exactly do you need to learn to get there? What skills do you need to focus on to get there as soon as possible?

So, I hope I will help you find an idea of what data analysis is about. And I hope you will enjoy my data analytics articles.
